The NFL’s 1972 American Football Conference champion the Miami Dolphins defeated the 1972 National Football Conference champions Washington Redskins. The MVP award of the 1973 Super Bowl game was Miami Dolphins Safety Jake Scott. Scott became only the second defensive player to win a Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award as he had two crucial interceptions in the game.
