• Johnson, Line To Be Honored By Touchdown Club Of Columbus
  DALLAS (SMU) - SMU seniors-to-be Darius Johnson and Zach Line are among the players who will be honored as "Players To Watch" at the 57th Annual Touchdown Club of Columbus Awards Banquet on Sat., Feb. 11, 2012 at the Lifestyle Communities Pavilion in downtown Columbus.
• Beachum, LeRibeus Invited To NFL Combine
  DALLAS (SMU) - SMU offensive linemen Kelvin Beachum and Josh LeRibeus are among the players that have been invited to participate in the NFL Scouting Combine February 22-28 in Indianapolis, Ind. The Scouting Combine is the "job fair" for prospective new NFL players. For seven days at Lucas Oil Stadium, more than 300 top prospects are put through a series of drills, tests and interviews with more than 600 NFL personnel including head coaches, general managers and scouts. This intense "job interview" is an exciting time for the athletes and a vital step in achieving their dreams of playing in the NFL.

  DALLAS (SMU) - SMU today announced a stellar recruiting class of 20 student-athletes, bringing another outstanding crop of recruits to the Hilltop. This year's group will compete for BIG EAST Championships and a BCS Bowl berth.
• SMU Sets 2012 Football Schedule
  DALLAS (SMU) - On the heels of its third straight bowl appearance, SMU has announced its 2012 football schedule. The slate is highlighted by seven games on the SMU campus including matchups against Texas A&M; and TCU, C-USA West rivals Houston and Tulsa and 2011 C-USA Champion Southern Miss.
• SMU Signs With Nike
  DALLAS (SMU) - When SMU student-athletes hit the field next fall, they will sport a new mark in addition to the classic running pony logo - a Nike Swoosh. SMU Athletics and Nike have entered into a five-year agreement that will make Nike the official provider of apparel, footwear and equipment for the Mustangs. The agreement will be effective beginning with the 2012-13 school year.
• Four Join SMU Football Team
  DALLAS (SMU) - Gehrig Dieter, Christian Holloway, Derek Longoria and Daniel Roundtree have all enrolled on the Hilltop and are now members of the SMU football team, Head Coach June Jones announced today.
• LeRibeus To Play In East-West Shrine Game
  TAMPA, Fla. (SMU) - SMU's Josh LeRibeus has accepted an invitation to play in the 87th East-West Shrine Game, organizers announced today. The game will be held Jan. 21, 2012 at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Fla., kicking off at 4 p.m. EST and televised live on the NFL Network.
• Jason Phillips Joins SMU Coaching Staff
  DALLAS (SMU) - Jason Phillips will join the SMU football coaching staff as an assistant coach, Head Coach June Jones announced today. Phillips just completed his ninth season at Houston, where he served as offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach. Phillips had also served as UH's recruiting coordinator.

• SMU Wins 2012 BBVA Compass Bowl
  J.J. McDermott ran and threw for first quarter touchdowns and SMU beat Pittsburgh 28-6 Sunday in the BBVA Compass Bowl. Rishaad Wimbley ran for two scores for SMU (8-5), which tied a school record by playing in its third straight bowl under coach June Jones.
