Northern Illinois University seniors Andrew Ness (O’Fallon, Mo./Christian Brothers College) and Boomer Mays (Lawrence, Kans./Eudora HS) have been named to the initial Watch List for the 2015 Rotary Lombardi Award, released today by the Rotary Lombardi Committee in Houston, Texas. The Lombardi Award marks the third watch list of the preseason for Ness, a three-year starter at center for the Huskies, while Mays, NIU’s returning starter at middle linebacker, sees his name on a preseason watch list for the first time.

An ABC television audience will see the Northern Illinois University Huskies take on defending national champion and projected 2015 preseason No. 1 Ohio State, the Big Ten Conference announced Friday. The Sept. 19 game has been selected for ABC broadcast with an ESPN2 reverse mirror for the national airing, and will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT/3:30 p.m. ET from Ohio Stadium in Columbus.

The new design is the first significant change to the look of the field since FieldTurf was originally installed on the surface in 2001.
