Maryland Terrapins football team represents the University of Maryland in NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision competition. The Terrapins compete within the Atlantic Division of the Atlantic Coast Conference. Maryland shares storied rivalries with Virginia and West Virginia.

The Maryland Terrapins won 1 NCAA-recognized national championship, 9 ACC championships, 2 Southern Conference championships, 11 consensus All-Americans, several Hall of Fame inductees, and twenty-three bowl game appearances.

Capital One Field at Byrd Stadium or Byrd Stadium, is an outdoor athletic stadium on the campus of the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. In August 2006, naming rights were sold to Chevy Chase Bank, which was subsequently acquired by Capital One.
