  Tickets for the University of Iowa's opening football game of the season, vs. Northern Illinois at Chicago's Soldier Field, are now on sale to the general public. The Hawkeyes and Huskies meet for the eighth time Saturday, Sept. 1. Television information and start time have not yet been determined.

  Multi-platinum RCA recording artist Sara Evans to headling the FRY fest concert scheduled for the night before this year's battle for the Iowa Corn Cy-Hawk Trophy.
• Doyle Named Master Strength & Conditioning Coach
  University of Iowa head strength and conditioning coach Chris Doyle will be named Master Strength and Conditioning Coach by the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches association (CSCCa). This honor is the highest given in the strength and conditioning coaching profession.
• Nielsen Earns Academic Recognition
  University of Iowa linebacker Tyler Nielsen has been named a member of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame's 2012 Hampshire Honor Society. Eligible players must have been a starter or played a significant role in their final year of eligibility, and must have achieved a cumulative 3.2 GPA over the course of their undergraduate careers.
• Start time set for Additional Hawkeye Football Games
  University of Iowa home football games against Minnesota (Sept. 29) and Nebraska (Nov. 23) will start at 11 a.m. (CT). In addition, Iowa games at Michigan State (Oct. 13) and Northwestern (Oct. 27) will also start at 11 a.m. (CT). The Big Ten Conference announced start times of selected games Thursday, with the majority of those games serving as Homecoming for the host institution.
• Hawkeyes a Hit in NFL Draft
  When junior left tackle Riley Reiff was selected by Detroit in the first round of the 2012 NFL Draft, the University of Iowa football program was once again listed among the national leaders in producing players for the highest level of competition.
• Bernstine Goes to Washington in 7th Round
  University of Iowa defensive back Jordan Bernstine was selected by the Washington Redskins in the seventh round of the 2012 NFL Draft Saturday. Bernstine is the sixth Iowa player selected in the 2012 draft and the 51st Hawkeye player to be drafted under Kirk Ferentz.
• McNutt Selected by Eagles in Sixth Round
  University of Iowa wide receiver Marvin McNutt, Jr. was selected by the Philadelphia Eagles in the sixth round of the 2012 NFL Draft Saturday. McNutt is the fifth Iowa player selected in 2012, and the 50th Hawkeye player under Kirk Ferentz to be drafted.
• Bengals Select Iowa's Shaun Prater in Fifth Round
  University of Iowa defensive back Shaun Prater was selected by Cincinnati in the fifth round of the 2012 NFL Draft Saturday. Prater is the fourth Iowa player selected, as OL Riley Reiff was selected in the first round by Buffalo Thursday. Prater is the 49th Hawkeye player under Kirk Ferentz to be drafted and the 10th defensive back.
• Washington Selects Adam Gettis in Fifth Round
  University of Iowa offensive lineman Adam Gettis was selected by Washington in the fifth round of the 2012 NFL Draft on Saturday. Gettis is the third Iowa player selected, as OL Riley Reiff was selected in the first round by Detroit Thursday and DL Mike Daniels was selected by Green Bay late in the fourth round.
• Mike Daniels Selected by Green Bay in Fourth Round
  University of Iowa defensive lineman Mike Daniels was selected by Green Bay in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft on Saturday. Daniels is the second Iowa player selected, as OL Riley Reiff was selected in the first round by Detroit Thursday. Daniels is the 47th Hawkeye player under Kirk Ferentz to be drafted and the ninth defensive lineman.
